The original Dinosaur logo, sketched by Owner John Stage’s friend, dates to the days when Stage and his partner hauled a 55-gallon-drum-turned-smoker to biker events, serving its unique “slow and low” barbecue to the crowds, years before the first Dinosaur Bar-B-Que joint opened in Syracuse, New York in 1988.

May is National BBQ Month, so the popular barbecue restaurant is hosting a special summer and barbecue-themed trivia competition on May 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the upstairs event room.

Syracuse-area singles will have a place to go this Valentine’s Day to eat, drink and be messy. That’s the idea behind Dinosaur Bar-B-Que’s Wednesday event, geared toward those not in relationships and complete with drink specials and valentines, said Jason Ryan, marketing director at the restaurant.

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que starts nationwide delivery

Goldbely.com, a company that ships popular local foods nationwide, has started offering fare from the Syracuse-based barbecue chain. The Dinosaur Bar-B-Que offerings went live on Monday afternoon. Since then, customers have placed 20 orders, said Jason Ryan, marketing director for Dinosaur Bar-B-Que.

Q&A: You wouldn’t think barbecue and yoga would make a perfect pair

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que’s first “Yoga & BBQ” event will be held on April 8 in its West Willow Street location. It is being done in conjunction with Sophie Tashkovski Yoga and Lululemon Athletica aims to bring two communities — food and fitness lovers — together. The Daily Orange spoke with Jason Ryan, marketing director for Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, about the event.
